FAQs

Most kitchen remodel projects take 4-6 weeks from demo to completion. This timeframe can be achieved even with the most extensive renovation projects. Most bathroom remodel projects take 2-4 weeks.

Absolutely! Feel free to purchase your own light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, hardware, tile, etc. We just ask that you let us supply the building materials and cabinetry so we can be certain that you will get a lifetime of stress free use out of your newly renovated space.

It is widely known that renovations cause a significant amount of dust, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the rest of your home will be dusty. At TSG Renovations we understand that dust is not only a nuisance, it could cause serious problems if not dealt with properly. That is why we take every precaution possible to prevent dust from spreading through your home. The following are some of the ways we can prevent dust from spreading through your home:

  • Install Zipper Walls at the entry of the project area
  • Plastic over any openings to other areas of the home
  • Sticky mats to grab the dust off our shoes as we walk out of the workspace
  • Lay down floor coverings
  • Use Dust Collectors*
  • Use Negative Air Machines*

If you are renovating a single room in your home, generally, there will only be a very small amount of dust that will occur outside the project area (usually in the hallway leading to the project area). Once you get into multiple areas of construction on your home, the potential for dust grows dramatically. While we still take every precaution available to prevent dust from spreading, depending on the layout of your home, it is possible that you will have dust show up in other areas. During these types of projects, where dust is inevitable, we have your home deep cleaned at the completion of the project.

No, most of our clients continue with their normal daily routine during the renovation. We will install a key box that will house the key for the duration of the project. This gives us access to the project, even when you are at work, and allows us to lock up when we leave. However, if you’d rather be home during the project, that is fine as well. In this case there is no need for a key box.

If you have someone you are familiar with that is licensed in their field then YES, we will definitely work with them. However, we can’t offer a warranty on their work so you’ll need to verify their coverage. With that being said, we highly recommend using all of our tradesmen so that you can rest assured the project will stay on schedule, stay on budget and will be completely stress free.

A general rule of thumb is that if significant structural alterations are made or if we are adding to the square footage of the home a permit will be required.

You should never sign a non-disclosure agreement (also known as a gag-order) with ANY home service company.  In fact, the Consumer Review Fairness Act prohibits any company from restricting (or penalizing) their clients from writing honest reviews.
